Graffiti6 VS. Foster the People

I am a musician.   I am a DJ.   I am a fan of many bands, including the two listed here.  I study cohesion within a song, and have a propensity toward funk and feeling - sometimes the funk is more than the overall picture, while some lyrics are enough to bring a song together, and make it about something more than music.  A track doesn't need lyrics to be enjoyable, and poetry doesn't need a symphony to make its point.   But when word and music make love, I get happy!
So here are two tracks that make me happy for different reasons.  "Goodbye Geoffrey Drake" by Graffiti6 tells a tale I don't quite understand, but is powerful.

Your name is Geoffrey Drake
And you are under arrest, he said
Led me down the road in chains
Neighbours all turned their heads

Cause all I wanted was a little love
All I needed was a little care
All I wanted was a little love and tenderness

We all die in silence
Then there's nothing, only ourselves to blame
Too much fight and no love gets you nowhere
I wish my mother had stayed

With a beat like this I hope that Foster the People doesn't stop.  These two bands have a lot in common - sharp lyrics and fast tracks that make you dance or feel like Jack Handy.   Do bands like this put out multiple albums that progressively get better?  Or are we doomed a successive line of band after band with new style after new style?  Can't wait to find out...
